With just over three years in the marketplace in Ireland providing career coaching and mentoring services, I wanted to give an insight in people's reasons for retaining the services of a career/coach and mentor.
This information is based on revenue on client count and covers people at all stages of their career and also pro-bono work which I do too. Geographically the split is 90% Ireland, 10% Overseas.
Over the next few posts I'll give some information on the reasons behind the the need for coaching, and the outcome.
It gives us insights to the why and the how, and it will touch upon opportunities for development for people at all stages of their careers.
There are some certainties:
* All clients are now making a bigger contribution to the national economy.
* 85% of clients are in roles they competed for.
* 15% are working on "getting there".
* All have developed new soft skills and talents.
The single greatest issue I've worked on is career dissatisfaction (35%), and this is a very broad area, so I will give more specifics later on how this impacts on home and work life and how by working together we can turn that around so that everyone wins. I learned that one of the first reactions to career dissatisfaction is "I'm going to leave". Learning how to act rather than react is a big strength!!!
